I'm gonna guess I was 13 or so, and I was walking home from downtown. I thought it was cool to walk under the bridge rather than on it and in doing so, I found an old "side-walk closed" sign. I took it home and painted all over it. I just love that it's messy so that when I mess up it just looks like a part of the work. Does it have any affect on your personality as well? </b></span><br /> It's interesting because I do different things with different mediums. When I was a painter I had a theme that I was trying to portray - more feminine creations, kind of like Lee Price. But now as a digital artist, I like to draw illustrations and more whimsical things. I like to paint feminine things in a kind of unsettling way. I know it's unsettling because my parents don't like it (laughs). But it's freeing to me, because I am feminine and consider myself a feminists, but I also believe I am off-putting to some people.<br /> <br /> <b>How would you describe your personal style? </b><br /> I'm a New Yorker now, so lots of black. I guess I go for sophisticated and people tell me the same. One day I'll wear all black with heels and look like an 80s business woman and the next I'll wear a stained sweater with a collar underneath and oil stained pants. I don't know what you would call it... Painter chic? I guess if my muse is motivation, then it's Disney.<br /> <br /> <b><u>Fire round:</u></b><br /> <b>Favorite pair of shoes?</b><br /> I have capsulitis in my right foot, so I buy these $50 nurses shoes and slide my orthodic insoles in them. It's so funny, but they keep me comfy when I'm on the go and at work. Walking dogs in anything else is not an option. My Chelsea boots are my second go-to pair - which I accidentally stole from H&M. On accident. But I felt so wild.<br /> <b>Favorite movie?</b><br /> Lady in the Tramp, that's easy.<br /> <b>Dream job? </b><br /> Whatever John Lasseter is. I wanna be John Lasseter. I wanna run Disney World. More realistically, Disney conceptual artist, but I'm still figuring out what I'm good at.<br /> <b>iPad paintings or canvas?</b><br /> Painting on canvas takes a lot of patience, but digital art you can tweak as much as you want and make it perfect. But I'm gonna say painting.<br /> <b>Minimal or colorful?</b><br /> Minimal for sure. I like to think I'm a simple person and I like simplicity, but that is still beautiful.

Because I was feeling a little under the weather, I went for "Green Genes," a green juice made from kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, apple, parsley, lemon, and ginger that was labeled as "good for immune health." It was crazy good - very fresh and flavorful without being too overwhelming like some green juices can be. I chose not to take a photo of it (do you know how hard it is to take an appetizing photo of chili?) so you're just gonna have to trust me when I say that it was some of the best chili I've ever had. I'm going to warn you now, this is not the place to come for a cheap meal. All of their ingredients are fresh, organic, and locally sourced, and the prices reflect that. I did a juice cleanse this week to start off the New Year healthy. The fact that I ate two brownies today is COMPLETELY outweighed by the fact that I drank my weight in liquid on Sunday.<br /> <br /> Seriously though, I'd never done a juice cleanse before and I wanted to give it a shot. One of my favorite little juice bars was having a special going on, so I figured why not? Get healthy, eat clean, all that NYE resolution stuff.<br /> <br /> Because it was my first time detoxing, I stuck to one day. At <a href="http://www.visitjugos.com/" target="_blank">Jugos</a>, a one day cleanse includes six juices. They have three preset detox options, and the option to make your own with any combination of the juices on their menu. I considered going the custom route, but figured that for my first run I'd leave it to the experts to decide which recipes would be the most beneficial. After staring at my computer screen and stressing about making the right decision for approximately 20 minutes, I went with the Clasico, gave them my name and pick-up time, and submitted my order.<br /> <br /> I picked up my cleanse on Sunday morning, and did some quick back-of-the-napkin math. They recommend that you drink your last juice at least two hours before you plan to go to bed, and to pace them evenly. The number 8, which was comprised solely of lemon, lime, alkaline water, raw sugarcane, and cayenne; it was overwhelming to say the least. Honestly, it wasn't horrible - I could have dealt more easily with a smaller serving. However, these are 16 ounce bottles we're talking about. That was the second one I drank, so I choked down the last 3/4 of it and went on with my day. </div> <div style="text-align: left;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: left;"> Surprisingly, I only found myself feeling hungry once (when my roommate was cooking dinner and it smelled oh-so-good). That quickly passed, though, once the smell dissipated. I did get tired of drinking liquid, considering that after six 16 ounce juices + water I had consumed well over 120 ounces in one day. I'm not gonna lie to you, I peed A LOT. Like, once every 40 minutes.</div> <div style="text-align: left;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: left;"> After all was said and done, though, I actually really enjoyed the cleanse. My roomie can tell you that I bitched about it a little bit (mostly concerning the frequent trips to the bathroom), but I felt very light and refreshed, especially the next day. I'll definitely do another detox in the coming months, and this time I'll try two days.
