Artists You Should Know

Just about every magazine, website, or blog you're subscribed to has probably at some point tried to tell you how cool or uncool artists are. Luckily for you,  #119 is not afraid of vibing to mainstream artists nor digging out a few underground gems. Just in case you don't have the time or energy to hunt for new, undiscovered, or overlooked artists, have no fear. We gotchu fam.

Raleigh Ritchie

Why We Love Him: For those of you who watch Game of Thrones, your eyes do not deceive you, that is in fact Grey Worm of the Unsullied army. Only his real name is Jacob Anderson, he goes by the stage name Raleigh Ritchie, and he is extremely talented. His sound is fun and progressive and his lyrics are well versed and always refreshing. Also, how could you not love that little face I mean come on.
Best Songs: A Moor, Bloodsport, Free Fall, Stronger Than Ever

Lido

Why We Love Him: 22 year old, sweet baby-faced Peder Losnegard, aka Lido, makes explosive songs that are the furthest thing from immature. With a well-balanced mix of innovative remixes and some of his own tracks that are simultaneously emotional and playful, we really hope Lido becomes a huge force in electronic music. Plus, he has this catchy four-note calling card that he works into every piece, which is really...like, cute. He's young, gettin it, and always gracing us with a fresh take on potentially tired concepts.
Best Songs: I Love You, Gatorade (Remix), Ain't No Sunshine (Remix), Money

Travis Garland

Why We Love Him: Former boy band member turned R&B prince, Travis Garland is currently unsigned and killing it. In his self titled album, Travis took a bit of JT and combined it with The Weeknd's flavor to create some alternative R&B that we vibe with on several levels. Not only is he a talented song-writer, but he covers your faves like no other, bringing his own flair to every note. With vocal riffs that are smoother than butter, Travis is most definitely on his way to a bright future.
Best Songs: Motel Pool, Where To Land, Blue Electric Roses, Neighbor

Lolawolf

Why We Love Them: When electro-punk meets soft and sweet in the best way, you can all thank Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet for creating a musical architect of a daughter in Zoe Kravitz. In her band Lolawolf, sweet Zoe has achieved what most punks can only dream of - a following of both mainstream and underground music lovers everywhere. Different and decisive are a few words to describe Lolawolf's sound, but take a listen for yourself and let me know on a scale from 1 to 10 how hard you're crushing on them afterwards (HINT: the correct answer is 11).
Best Songs: Bitch, AYO, Calm Down, Only You
