I Woke Up Like This: The Perfect Green Smoothie for Your Morning

The idea of green cocktails has become all the rave recently. Everyone's getting into it and why wouldn't they? With health benefits such as increased energy, immunity, and even weight loss, it's definitely worth setting aside a few extra minutes in your morning routine to blend.

One of the beauties of smoothies is that you can completely alternate it and make it your own. My favorite recipe to start off my morning is one I just threw together one day. It's a quick and easy way to get your daily servings of fruits and veggies. Made mostly of vegetables, you can enjoy it without worrying about overdoing it in the sugar department. I'm not a fan of super sweet smoothies so if you want a little extra sweetness go ahead and add some apple slices or a frozen banana.

Ingredients:
  • 1 Stalk of Celery
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Spinach
  • 1/4 Cup Cucumber
  • Handful of Broccoli
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • Pinch of Ginger (boosts your immune system)
  • Pinch of turmeric (anti-inflammatory)
  • Ice
  • Splash of Coconut Water

Directions:
Blend all ingredients with ice, coconut water, and the juice of 1/2 lemon. Obviously, pour it into a mason jar & sprinkle chia seeds and shredded coconut on top for the insta. Cheers!
