In my personal opinion, there is seriously no better album to exist than Channel Orange, and the only artist who could top it is Christopher Francis Ocean himself. Naturally, when Frank promised us fans that during July 2015 we'd be seeing his new album Boys Don't Cry after a three-year hiatus, I all but spontaneously combusted. Call me crazy, but I woke up every single morning of July checking to see if he finally dropped it. Even when it hit the 31st of the month and everyone else had lost hope, I swore on my life he would purposely release the album at 11:59pm. I was wrong. It is now August and Frank's lies have left his fans in a dark album-less abyss of despair and betrayal.
So to my fellow Frank Ocean fans, what do we do while perpetually waiting for this album? We can't just sit here forever refreshing his website to see if something will change. While Frank's off doing lord knows what, our lives must go on. See below for how to keep your days of waiting for Frank productive!
MIND: Actually learn how to use Excel
"Proficient in Microsoft Excel" Yeah.. ok. We all know that lie. Excel classes can be found near you and there are plenty of tutorials online. Take them! Chances are you will definitely need the skills for that upcoming internship or class presentation.
BODY: Change up your workout
Whether you hit the gym every day or casually stroll through it every once in a while to admire the attractive people, changing up your workout is beneficial for anyone (and no I don't mean going from 20 reps to 30). If you're like me and are most motivated when you're on a team or with a group of people, try taking a group fitness class at your nearest gym. Most gyms offer everything from spinning to yoga to Zumba, and the classes are available to those of all fitness levels. If you're more of the solo workout type, check out the
Nike+ Training Club app. Again, this caters to those of all fitness levels, and offers a wide variety of workout sets, even some taught by your favorite professional athletes and celebrities. Abs by Serena Williams? Yes please!
SOUL: Invest in a creative hobby
Whether it's writing, painting, drawing, cooking, music, or (my personal favorite) photography, creative hobbies can really expand your horizons beyond your everyday school or work life. Focus on yourself and spend time creating something you love. Setting goals for yourself creatively allows you to be productive without being stressed out by other people's deadlines or expectations.
