Chopt: The Perfect Salad Spot
If you're anything like me and you value a good salad more than life, allow me to direct you to my newest obsession, CHOPT. When I visited NYC a couple of weeks back, my aunt asked me where I would like to have lunch and naturally, I suggested a salad spot. She immediately high-tailed it to Chopt. This being my first time trying out this seemingly adored location - due to the line out the door - I was a little weary of trying it out. Try not to choke on your drink, but I am not one of those girls who would sell their soul for a Sweetgreen salad, and I half expected Chopt to be another version of just that. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
Probably looking like the happiest tourist in all the land, I quickly busted out my camera to snap some pics of the bustling layout of the store-front. The lines moved quickly and next thing I knew, I was customizing my *perfect* kale salad. Using an interesting contraption, they "chopt" up my greens and mixed in all the fixings in just about the coolest way you could ever make a salad. The staff was extremely kind, somehow managing to carry out a full convo with me while operating what to me would be considered as heavy machinery. With such an interesting product flow, there's almost no way to not be extra hyped for your masterpiece of a salad.
Finally, I had my salad, praise be. What I thought would be a small, skimpy bowl turned out to be a meal-sized salad reasonably priced and prepared to perfection. I immediately dug in and was met with nothing but pure kale and quinoa induced joy. It was very apparent that all the ingredients were so fresh and the salad was so dense I could barely finish it off (which is a good thing!!!) Great salad + great service = one happy Sammy.
With many locations in the Northeast, be sure to find your nearest Chopt location and engage in the creative salad experience! You won't regret it.
