Worth the Splurge: High Beam by Benefit

Let it be known that when it comes to makeup, I am a drug store queen. I know, I know - the stuff you buy at CVS does not even compare to what you can get at Sephora or any high-end makeup counter, and may or may not be more harmful for your skin in the long run... but ya girl does not have the bank account to be visiting MAC Cosmetics as much as she'd like! So for all those beauty ballers on a budget out there who refuse to pay absurd amounts of money for makeup, trust me when I say I am with you.

However, the one and only product I have splurged on is Benefit's High Beam highlighter.  There's no denying that the iridescent glow this product brings is truly unmatched. Even if, like me, you don't have very strong bone structure or sky-high cheekbones, you can bring a little extra glow to your face with just a couple drops. Still, many think that $26 for a tiny little bottle is outrageous. Check out my three reasons why this product is worth the splurge!

1. Long-term investment

A 13ml bottle may not sound very large, but its longevity is one of the main reasons I decided to make the purchase. Because you only apply a few dots of product for each wear, the bottle can last for over a year!

2. Easy to apply

Just apply a few dots on your upper cheekbones and then blend with your (clean) finger!

3. Works for all skin tones

There is a common misconception that highlighter only works on those with pale skin. To prove those people wrong, some of the team here at #119 decided to serve up some looks and show it can work on anyone!
