Editors Talk: Skincare Essentials

Show me a person who says skincare is not important and I will show you a liar. I believe skincare is HIGHLY underrated and should be promoted as ferociously as the makeup we willingly load onto our faces. There is nothing more exciting than having double-take worthy skin that glows to the highest heavens. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but the overall health of your skin is the ultimate goal. After discovering a few new skincare products in recent weeks, I figured it was about time to share all my skincare essentials that I cannot function without. Rather than boring you with the my 20 minute routine, I'll be name dropping a couple of great brands and products that you should definitely check out if this winter has your skin feeling extra dry and looking extra sad.

Great for makeup removal or an end of the night cleanse. Use on slightly damp face and work around in small circles to make sure you clear all the makeup and build-up out of your poor pores. Whether you've got a full beat on or you only did your brows because you're lazy like me, this cleanse will help wash away everything without leaving residue.

If you love a good sheet mask and also happen to love yourself, sprint to your nearest Sephora and slide this mask on for 30 minutes; perfect for a pre-night life or a pre-bed moisturize session. Make sure to rub in the excess serum after the mask to lock in all the goodness. Fair warning, be prepared to look like a soggy version of the dude from Silence of the Lambs, but also know that this mask is giving you only the best of moisture. Not to mention, 2 masks for $7.50 is a deal you cannot argue with.

Jojoba Oil & Coconut Oil (Trader Joes)
Big ups to my big sis over at Sherelle Naturelle for putting me on to these absolute essentials. While I haven't fully committed to the lifestyle just yet, any time I visit her place I test them out once more to find that they are the most effective, most natural, and most inexpensive methods to landing glowing skin. Below, I'm using both coconut and jojoba oil to first remove my makeup and then cleanse my face. The glow is real, believe in the glow.

At the end of the day, it's all about testing out which products will work best for your skin type and meet your personal needs. Nonetheless, get to exploring on your good friend Google and search for products that will revive your skin regardless of the type. Trust and believe, your skin will thank you.
